A learning journey with Judo.
Based in the culturally rich city of Kanazawa, this journey invites participants to discover the spirit, values, and everyday presence of judo in a local Japanese setting—far from the formal halls of Tokyo.
Why in Kanazawa?
not only with the techniques, but also with the culture.
While many associate judo with the Kodokan in Tokyo, we offer an alternative perspective:
judo as it lives in the daily lives of communities, taught in small dojos, nurtured by families, and grounded in mutual respect.
Through this, participants connect not only with the techniques of judo, but also with the heart of Japanese culture itself.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Mini Judoka (Ages 4–6)
Fun and active judo-based play for preschoolers. Builds coordination, balance, and social skills.
SC – Standard Class (Elementary School)
Learn basic judo techniques while developing strength, discipline, and healthy habits.
AC – Advance Class (Elementary School)
Competition-focused training to improve skills and prepare for tournaments.
U15 (Junior High School)
Development class for motivated athletes aiming to reach the next level.

Koji KUBOTA
6th dan.
I am the head of the dojo and have over 45 years of experience in judo instruction.
I began practicing judo in high school and have devoted myself to lifelong learning, continually striving to improve while training many top-level judo athletes in Japan over the years.
At our dojo, let’s share a variety of training methods, philosophies, and the spirit of judo together!

7th dan.
I am the head instructor of the Kubota Club.
I began practicing judo in my childhood and continued my training at Tenri University.
I strive to provide high-quality coaching grounded in experience and tradition.
I look forward to welcoming you to our dojo.
Head Coach
Kazuki KUBOTA
5th dan.
I manage a judo school, following in the footsteps of my father, who is the head instructor and taught me the art of judo. As the second-generation leader, I am doing my best to carry on his legacy.
I primarily coach elementary school students, with the aim of nurturing both academic and athletic growth. Through judo, I strive to instill the spirit of Jita-Kyoei—mutual prosperity for oneself and others.
By incorporating a variety of teaching methods, I create a fun and engaging environment where children can enjoy learning judo.

Shun KONDO
4th dan
I’m a judo coach based in Japan, currently working with Kubota Judo Club and Hokuriku University. I’ve also coached in Croatia with both the national team and a local club.
I studied sports science at the University of Tsukuba, and I focus on building strong fundamentals in technique and discipline. I tailor my coaching to each athlete’s level and goals.
